WHO SHOULD GET VACCINATED?

Everyone 6 months and older should get at least one dose of the updated COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccine will provide enhanced protection against COVID-19, even if you’ve already been vaccinated, have had COVID-19 or have never been vaccinated against the virus.

Immunity to COVID infections wanes over time and with new variant strains circulating, there is increased potential for infection. The updated vaccine is safe and provides effective protection against severe illness from COVID-19 strains that are circulating now.

Older adults, pregnant people and anyone with underlying or chronic health conditions are more susceptible to severe illness from COVID-19 and should prioritize vaccination.

Check with your health care provider to learn what’s best for you and your loved ones or visit PublicHealth.lacounty.gov/Vaccines for more information.
