Nobody Left Behind Project

If you have a mobility limitation and have experienced any type of natural disaster, we want to hear from you!

The Research and Training Center on Independent Living (RTCIL) is hosting a website called "Nobody Left Behind: Emergency Preparedness for Persons with Mobility Impairments. "Whether you have past recollections or current experiences, we would like you to complete a brief survey if you have a mobility limitation and have personal experience with any type of natural disaster. Natural disasters include events such as tornadoes, flooding, hurricanes, earthquakes, or man-made disasters.

This online survey is easy and will take less than 10 minutes of your time. It will be important in shaping the future of emergency planning. Your stories will remain anonymous and will help direct researchers, emergency managers, and emergency responders to consider the following questions: Does persons with a mobility limitation have equal access to building evacuation? What obstacles complicate post-disaster services at a shelter, or services to re-enter your work or home after a disaster? What worked and did not work for you in a disaster situation?
